Bushfire Risk

With bushfires predicted to burn more frequently & more intensely, the management of fire risk & response is becoming increasingly important for our bushland & rural communities.

Yarramine assists homeowners, builders, developers and building designers with the provision of bush fire assessment reports to meet today’s standards in bushfire protection for new buildings and developments.  Key services include Bushfire Attack Level (BAL) Assessments (Method 1 and 2) in accordance with the Australian Standard for Construction in Bushfire Prone Areas (AS3959, 2018) for new dwellings and Bushfire Hazard Assessments for new subdivisions to meet relevant Local Council Planning Scheme Policies and Bushfire Hazard Overlay Codes.  In addition, we can also prepare Bushfire Management Plans which typically include the results of a Bushfire Hazard Assessment and/or BAL Assessment (where applicable) to identify the extent of bushfire risk for a particular area.  These plans may include Asset Protection Zones (APZs), strategic access firebreaks on public and private property, firefighting water supply, firefighting access, and ongoing maintenance responsibilities.
