Summary
Client: Queensland Water & Land Carers
Location: Brisbane, QLD
Date: Jul to Dec 2009

During 2009 Yarramine was engaged by Queensland Water and Land Carers (QWaLC) to develop a casual volunteering program that would bring together the travelling public with community environment groups in need of volunteers for their environmental projects.  Thus the Green Nomads volunteering program was born.

Green Nomads is a casual volunteering program that links Australia's large travelling population (such as Grey Nomads) with community natural resource management groups who need extra volunteers to help undertake conservation works in their local communities.

QWaLC is the peak body for natural resource management (NRM) volunteers in Queensland and its roles include representation, advocacy, promotion, networking and insurance administration.  QWaLC's board includes representatives from each of Queensland's NRM body regions, and the  organisations' membership consists of over 300 groups and 29,000 individuals.
